Hendricks County reported 207 homes sold in 2008 and 180 the same month a year later. The selling price of homes only dipped slightly however from $144,000 to $139,945 which is a drop of 2.8%.

Regrettably, for Pittsboro homes the numbers dropped even more. In 2008, during the month of July, twelve homes closed while only five did so a year later. This is a drop of over 50%. It’s hard to say what to account for such a drastic decrease. Perhaps the draw of neighboring communities played a factor, such as Plainfield and Brownsburg, who did not experience falling numbers at all.
